Good morning

Hiroyuki was my Japanese room mate. Lovely guy, but knew only two things about Scotland.... it's near Norway and Nakamura plays for Celtic.

.... when you come out of a pub in Huntly you're unlikely to see a bloke on a scooter, headlights on in broad daylight, talking on a mobile phone with a basset hound on a leish.... unless you've been drinking too much of the local moonshine.

Neil

He's fae Dundee!

Paris 26

Neil is a good guy from Huntly who ranged from grumpy to hilarious in one night. I'm looking forward to his book of observations abotu the differences between Huntly and Paris... well you don't get sheep in stockings at the Moulin Rouge.

Paris trip

The trip to paris actually started as a trip I was going to make anyway to research Mary Queen of Scots. As such it is a four day trip rather than a two day trip. After an hour in Paris I realised that the original rules of £200 for a trip going out on a Monday and coming back on a Wednesday couldn't possibly work. I have therefore ignored first day's living expenses and contracted thsm into the cheapflighttuesday model. Based on that I have spent 106.95 euro as at 10.49am on Monday. OK I got pissed in three Scottish pubs on Sunday night, and getting pissed in Paris on a budget isn't easy. Nevertheless I have met quite a few Scots and now have to move on to the challenges....
